Hand Weaving

We specialize in handwoven rugs as we have had the opportunity to collaborate with expert weavers in the remotest of villages in Rajasthan. Our weavers, given the right design map, can create remarkable rugs with about 95% color matching! Their experience speaks for itself in the finesse of our products. We also understand the significance of raw materials because we know that to ensure a good rug we need good raw fibres and natural dyes, so we source our organic materials from the best suppliers all over India.

Hand Block Printing

Hand block printing is a traditional Rajasthani art that has now become famous all over the world. It involves hand carving intricate patterns in teak wood blocks and then using them to create stunning designs on fabric. Custom wooden blocks are first hand carved by ace artisans in teak wood to ensure maximum durability and print quality. After that, the ‘Chhipa’, term for the block printing artist, prints our designs on fabric with phenomenal accuracy and speed, using only his eyes, hands and the wooden block. The printed fabrics are then left to dry out in the open in the hot Rajasthan sun. The fabrics, if they are rugs, are then stonewashed by hand using pumice stone to give the final finished look. Other materials are given organic cold wash treatments to ensure maximum color fastening.

This craft is passed on from generation to generation in a ‘chhipa’ household. Some of our artisans have a family history of over 4 generations of block printing.

Dabu Printing

Dabu printing is a perfect example of traditional scientific methods. The technique involves a technique wherein a certain pattern on the fabric is covered with a mud paste using wooden blocks and then the it is dyed in huge indigo tanks. After the dyeing process, the fabric is washed and the mud is removed, leaving amazing patterns on the fabric. The art requires a lot of attention to detail to ensure premium quality and an error free printing process.
