Here we present our Haveli Stripes Collection, where each of our rugs is inspired by a different region in Rajasthan. Havelis were built as regal mansions and townhouses in the erstwhile princely states of Rajasthan. They used Dhurries as a form of durable floor coverings as they are made up of attractive patterns and colours.

Dhurrie rugs are a type of traditional Indian flat-woven rug, made from cotton/wool yarns. They are known for their durability, versatility, and bright colors, making them a popular choice for use in homes all over the world.

The process of making a Dhurrie rug involves several steps. First, the cotton/wool is cleaned, carded, and spun into yarns. The yarns are then dyed using natural dyes to create a range of colors.

Next, the weaver sets up the loom and begins weaving the rug, using a technique known as the Punja method. This involves creating a small gap between each color block, which creates a slight texture in the rug and allows for better weaving.

The weaver works row by row, passing the weft yarns through the warp yarns, creating the pattern of the rug. Once the weaving is complete, the edges of the rug are bound to prevent fraying.

Dhurrie rugs can come in a variety of sizes and patterns, from simple stripes to intricate geometric designs. They are lightweight, easy to clean, and suitable for use in a variety of settings, from living rooms to kitchens and bedrooms.

Punja weave rugs are known for their durability and can last for many years if cared for properly.
