Dabu printing is a perfect example of traditional scientific methods. Designs are printed on the rug using patterned handmade wooden blocks, dipped in a clay paste . The rug is then covered in sawdust to fix the clay and left out in the sun to dry for 2 days. Afterwards, it is dipped in huge color dye tanks for a few hours.and then taken out to dry out in the sun again. After the dyeing process, the rug is washed and the clay is removed, which leaves amazing patterns on the rug as the dye is unable to penetrate through the clay. The art requires a lot of attention to detail to ensure premium quality and an error free printing process.
